A Demand for Global Engineers With Open Mindsets

Global Engineering plays a huge part in the building of the Chunnel. The video clip mentioned both the development of a close union with Europe and the fear of invasion as major points in the development of the Chunnel. Embracing the first and overcoming the fear of the second were both large feats in terms of the changing ideology of the engineers who worked on the project. In embracing a close union with Europe, the engineers would provide both England and France with a device that would provide not only a physical link between countries, but also an increase in commerce and prevention in costly overseas transport. Overcoming the fear of invasion thus allows for the building and design of the project, which further allows for all of the positive benefits that the project would bring. All of this is indicative to the necessity of Global Engineers to have an open mindset, especially with a focus on making positive connections between different cultures, countries, and peoples.
