You're still awake at 4 am writing your essay or engineering homework when you should be nicely tucked in your cosy bed. Your eyes burn and those trademark purple bags start to form. You feel the pain, but you still have to push on. There is simply no more time to waste. Everything has to be done. No stopping to surf the web or to watch TV. No making excuses. NO MORE PROCRASTINATION.
I’m sure by now everyone has felt the great feeling of procrastinating. I love that feeling. Nothing feels better than deciding to do work at a later and more “practical” time. This gives the chance to do the fun useless things we all love to do. For example, watch TV, surf the web, etc.
But from what I’m realizing from my two weeks experience of doing homework at the last minute, procrastination sucks. You end doing things you don’t really feel like doing late at night. You are more likely stress about things. The next day you feel sleepy in class and don’t pay attention. You’re not studying at your full potential. The next evening, you still feel like sleeping but you still have a lot of homework to do. And the whole cycle continue so on and so forth.
Yet why do we still procrastinate? How do we stop? These are the two golden questions that I've been haunting me for quite some time already. If you know a fool-proof clever way of overcoming this problem: Respect. I'll be willing to pay to hear it.
I totally love this post, since these questions run in my time all the time these days too. Its 4 am right now (coincidence) and I'm writing a blog entry. I know I won't have time tomorrow, since I'll be working in a dining court all afternoon. I'll try to take short naps, and that is all I can really do, since I can barely catch any sleep. But what I've figured out is to do one homework a day, so that not everything gets over the level on thursday evenings. This works for me, you could try it too! :) (Jayne)
ReplyDeletedude! I'm still awake to post this comment lol. I haven't slept all night and the best part is that i'm still not sleepy. I'm so energetic to make another 3-4 posts.
ReplyDeleteYou know what, my worst enemy is PROCRASTINATION. I try not to procrastinate but this tons of homework makes me leave the learning stuff to the next day. Home works have been haunting me all night. I finish one and the next is in queue. Anyhow, we have to bear them all long. Good luck :)

Thanks for your comments. It feels good knowing that the Learning community has procrastinators. I really feel part of a community right now.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, we'll be able to cope. I'm sure I will. And I know, from what you've told me, you will too. After all as procrastinators, I think we work the most when we're challenged by something or someone. And from what I know, we're at the right place to be challenged.
We will get through this. Everyone will. Good Luck!
