I CAN RUN !!!

Last Weekend, I found out that I can run again. For about four months, I was suffering from leg pains when I ran. There weren’t as agonizing as spontaneous muscle cramps for example. However in my case, those pains would slowly build up over a few kilometers. After a certain points the pain get so intense that I have to stop. My Feet, my calfs, my shin, would all scream in pain and be at the same time numb. So I had quit running for quite some time. Two weeks ago, I went to the PUSH center to get those pains diagnosed. The doctor suspected “Chronic Exertional Compartmental Syndrome”. My first reaction was “oh god, this sucks”. And it did, especially because the only treatment for this ailment was surgery.

In order to be sure the doctor told to me run and document thoroughly the pains I felt. So I went to the Trec during the break. And guess what. All I needed was to stretch my muscles more than I used to. What a relief. I am running just like before. Can’t wait to feel my next runner’s high.

  1. I'm glad you didn't have to get surgery! So, did you do track and field in high school and have you run in any races, like marathons?
