In my opinion, while mentioning “Asians”, Americans generally think of Chinese, Koreans and Japanese. This is because the most Asians have same facial appearances and most Asian immigrants are from these three countries. And Americans often confuse with people from other Asian countries. From my personal experience, I have been called “Jackie Chan” and “Ping Pong”. These were some stereotypes of Asians. There were also cases when Chinese started to speak to me in Chinese.
Other Asian stereotypes include strict parents and hardworking students. These two are related to each other. Asians are very focused on education and push their children very hard.
If I planned to work in Asian country like China, I would learn more about teamwork. As Richard Nisbett wrote, Chinese tend to live in harmony with others. They were not individualists as their Greek counterparts. From this statement it can be interpreted that Chinese people are more likely to work in teams than individually.
