Asians and the Greeks

The Asians and the Greeks have two different ideals of happiness. Harmony is used to describe how the Chinese are. The Chinese are more of a group that tend to communicate well and work with others. Their ideal of happiness is when individuals in a group or village is happy. These groups or villages work together to find solutions and not their own individual problems. This trait of working together is very different when it comes to the Greek's ideal of happiness.

The Greeks tend to be more individual. They tend to want everyone to have their own ideals and goals to solve, which is the exact opposite of the Chinese ideal of happiness. The Greeks demanded freedom in their lives. Proofs of individuality of Greeks were the pictures of battles, athletic events, and parties for the Greeks, while the Chinese had scrolls of family activities.

If I was preparing to work or study in Asia, I would learn the people's background, culture, and behaviors of their personalities.

  1. I really like how you described the Greek individuals, strong and can carry out a life of their own. I have heard the same about greeks, which makes me want to visit Greece more and more. They indeed do demand freedom in their life, which is quite opposite to what Asians feel. Dependency is a thing that most Asians tend to have, which in some way is in me too. (engr103)
